WHAT IS THE WIAPS SCHEME?
As a WIAPS-approved contractor, Avon Water Services is fully certified to provide safe, reliable and high-quality plumbing services. WIAPS (Water Industry Approved Plumbers’ Scheme) is the largest of the four UK Approved Contractors’ Schemes, accrediting plumbers and other water industry professionals on behalf of 18 UK water companies. Our certification was previously through Watermark but is now held under WIAPS, following its replacement by Severn Trent.
The scheme ensures that all work meets strict standards for water safety, including managing waste, consumption, and contamination. To maintain membership, Avon Water Services must undergo regular compliance audits, adhere to a formal complaints procedure, and hold public liability insurance. All work undertaken by us, including the installation of plumbing systems, fittings and any water-use equipment connected to the public supply, must be covered by the Water Industry Approved Plumbers’ Scheme (WIAPS).
