UNDERGROUND LEAKS & HOW THEY CAN AFFECT YOUR BUSINESS
Working in the water industry for over 20 years we understand the importance of locating and fixing underground incidents such as leaks and blockages. The impact of these incidents can be highly damaging to site infrastructure both internal and external to buildings, additionally, the disruption of the incident can severely affect your ability to meet your company objectives and of course there is a significant financial impact.
Research shows that 80% of underground leaks don’t show on the surface and an underground pipe bursting can easily leak up to 1000 liters of water per hour. Given that water services are charged to the consumer at around £2.00 per 1000 litres, this equates to £48.00 per day, £336.00 per week – or a full-time employee!
WHAT WE OFFER
Avon Water Services can offer a number of services to assist you with underground incidents. For example with underground leakage, we would complete a water balance for the site to understand the gap between metered usage and estimated required usage.
If there is a significant amount of unaccounted-for water then there are multiple techniques we can use such as sub-metering projects (both temporary and permanent), logging of the meters to provide real-time usage data and correlation technology to locate the leak.
Once the leak is identified Avon Water Services can provide a concise report detailing the extent of the leak and a detailed rectification program, additionally we can make a claim on your behalf with the statutory provisions for any allowances available.
There are multiple other underground services that we offer such as CCTV surveys, installation of new mains (water and waste), operations and maintenance, locating supply pipes and detailed CAD drawings.
