COVENTRY LEAD PIPE REPLACEMENT SCHEME
Severn Trent Water is offering Coventry locals the opportunity to save thousands of pounds by replacing lead pipes through a ground-breaking Green Recovery programme.
If you have a house in Coventry that was built before 1950, you may have lead water pipes underground. As part of the new upgrade programme, Severn Trent Water are offering to replace those lead pipes at potentially no cost to you.
This scheme is to roll out to over 25,000 homes in Coventry.
WHY SHOULD YOU REPLACE OLD PIPES?
It can save you money: In some cases, replacing your water supply pipes could cost you up to £3000! As part of this scheme, Severn Trent Water will in most cases cover the cost. Older lead pipes are also more likely to leak so by upgrading your pipes you will be reducing the risk and saving a huge bill in the future and also improving water quality in your property.
Improved water flow: Lead pipes are known to narrow as they age, which can restrict the water flow to your taps. Replacing the lead pipe can help to improve this.
Future-proofing your home: By upgrading away from lead pipes now will not only safeguard your home from needing any extensive work but also save on costs. It’s also an appealing feature for potential homebuyers if they don’t have to take on the hassle of replacing lead pipes.
